The ¡§HK Inter-School Basketball Marathon 2011¡¨, presented by the Hong Kong Schools Sports Federation, subvented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department and sponsored by ¡§POCARI SWEAT¡¨ will again be held in summer this year.

Date : 28th June ¡V 7th July 2011
Time : 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Venue : Harbour Road Sports Centre, Wanchai, Hong Kong

Entry : Member secondary schools are eligible to enroll for the tournament, each school is allowed to register one boys¡¦ and one girls¡¦ team.
Entry Fee : HK$150 per team. Cheque should be made payable to ¡§The Hong Kong Schools Sports Federation¡¨.
Deadline for Entry : Wednesday, 8th June 2011
Application : Schools are advised to first fax the application form to the Federation office (Fax: 2761 9808) and send the original application form together with the entry fee to the Federation office by post.

Competition System : Single Knock Out.  Size 7 Basketball will be adopted in boys¡¦ competition and size 6 Basketball in girls¡¦ competition.  The top 16 boys¡¦ and 8 girls¡¦ teams from last year¡¦s competition will be seeded.  Draws will take place on 10th June in the Federation Office at 3:00pm and teachers of participating teams are welcome to attend.
Court Marking : New court line marking will be implemented in the competition. The three-point line is marked with an arc of radius 6.75m measured from the point on the floor beneath the exact centre of the opponents¡¦ basket to the outer edge of the arc.  The restricted areas shall be the rectangular areas and distance between two lines is 4.90m.

Awards : The Champion, 1st Runner-up, two 2nd Runner-up
¡@ 5th ¡V 8th Places
¡@ Best Basketball Players: Best Five Boy¡¦s and Girl¡¦s Players will be selected from the semi-final teams by a special committee. (one each for Point Guard, Shooting Guard, Small Forward, Power Forward and Centre)
¡@ Most Valuable Player (MVP) Award: A Most Valuable Player will be selected among the Best Basketball Players for both Boys and Girls.
¡@ The most supportive school
¡@ Three Point Competition: The top 8 final teams may appoint one player to participate in the competition.  A player can shoot a maximum of 18 balls from the 3-point field goal area and the time is limited to one minute.
